LTB model MNL 100 (103 LD hp) pulsed Nitrogen Laser System. The manufacturer specifies that these will produce at least 90% of initial power after 60 million pulses. These units are essentially unused with a pulse count of less than 10,000, half of which resulted from testing in our lab. Asking price will include a 90 day, 1 million pulse (whichever comes first) warranty. These lasers are used in LIF spectroscopy, MALDI-TOF and Ion trap Mass Spectrometry, UV Microscopy and the high peak power makes them great for pumping Dye Lasers.
These lasers produce 337nm ultraviolet light in short 3ns pulses. The 103 LD version is specified to produce >85uJ per pulse but in testing here we measure >150uJ at 30Hz and about 170uJ at 1Hz. Apparently the 'hp' in the model number indicates that these are a 'high power' version of the low divergence LD type laser. We're including everything you need to get started using the laser other than a Windows PC needed to run the GUI control software. This includes one of our popular USB to optical interfaces which connects the optical interface on the laser to a USB interface on your PC. We will provide a copy of the users manual and GUI software to the buyer on request.
These lasers have an internal safety shutter that defaults to closed. You'll need to open it using the GUI to allow pulses out. A note about the interlock plug. For some unfathomable reason, LTB chose to use a USB mini connector for the interlock. It is wired completely different than USB and in fact has +24V present so
it is very important not to plug any USB devices into this connector
as they will likely be destroyed. We're providing an interlock jumper that needs to be plugged into the port labeled REMOTE in order to close the interlock loop.
These lasers can be triggered by an external source. This requires an adapter that converts a TTL signal to an optical output that is connected to the laser. You can find these adapters in our eBay store.
