Like new, in original packaging.
We are the original owners of the receiver. Bought in 2010, it was used for one year in our pet-, kid-, and smoke-free home, and has been in storage ever since (moving and having a child can knock one's priorities sideways, apparently).
The SR 5004 is a very capable machine, equipped with everything (and, truth be told, probably way more than) you need to rig up a great, comprehensive system. It has Dolby Prologic, etc, set up for Sirius XM, HDMI - see all the main specs in the list below.
Our favourite, perhaps - as in, "holy AI, now THIS IS TECHNOLOGY!" - feature of it is the Audyssey. The dainty little device (included) listens to your room and tunes the receiver automatically for best performance in the given physical space. (The setup is an entertaining, if loud, process: Audyssey needs to "touch" the boundaries of the space with sound waves.) One might think the resulting setup would be a matter of taste, but surprisingly, the Audyssey
does
know what's best for you. I can vouch for it - and I have a classical music education/can turn a knob or two.
